SAP EWM – Pick Driven Replenishment / User based replenishment / Direct Replenishment.

SAP EWM: Pick Driven, User-Based & Direct Replenishment

In SAP EWM, at the time of picking stock for internal use, if the warehouse operator does not find sufficient or any stock in the source storage type (in the ideal replenishment process — planned — the system usually creates the replenishment warehouse task), the warehouse operator can self-create a replenishment task to pick the material from the replenishment storage type to the source storage type and refill the stock in the source type. In Direct Replenishment in SAP EWM, the replenishment of stock is triggered during a bin denial when an exception code refers to the internal process code ‘Replenishment’. The system calculates the replenishment quantity in accordance with the maximum and minimum quantities and assumes the quantity at the storage bin is zero. The system then rounds down the replenishment quantity to a multiple of the minimum replenishment quantity.

Direct replenishment can be performed by the picker (picker-directed replenishment). In this case, a warehouse task is displayed for the replenishment as the next item to be processed in the picker’s warehouse order. As a prerequisite, the system must have found stock in the permitted storage types. Picker-directed replenishment is only possible in radio frequency scenarios.
